Bluebird at Bonneville painting by Jack Vettriano for sale

Seven Jack Vettriano paintings go to auction next month .Touted as the most important collection of Vettrianos seen at auction, the series was commissioned by the restaurateur Sir Terence Conran for the Bluebird, on the King’s Road in Chelsea in 1997. Vettriano said yesterday: “I was thrilled when Sir Terence Conran approached me with the project. The brief was pretty clear: ‘I know you have to paint cars, but try to make them sexy’. “I did a lot of research on the subject and spent six weeks in my studio producing the works - that’s slow for me.
