Amazon.com 100 Hot CDs - Amazon.com 100 Hot DVDs U2 have triumphed in a poll of the greatest pop album of all time - beating The Beatles. More than 250,000 viewers of music TV channel VH-1 sent in their preferences, making the Irish band's 1987 The Joshua Tree number one. The U2 album was a UK number one and sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. Michael Jackson's Thriller - at almost 50 million copies, the biggest seller of all time - was number two. The Beatles' highest entry was 1966's Revolver at number eight - the oldest record in the top 10. The most recent record, Madonna's 1998 album Ray Of Light, came at number 10. Other recent releases in the upper reaches of the chart included last year's releases Sing When You're Winning by Robbie Williams at 13, and Coldplay's Parachutes at 23. VH-1's top 10 albums 1.
